X3F Quick Viewer
A macOS utility for SIGMA X3F thumbnails and Quick Look previews
Getting started
- Launch X3F Quick Viewer once.
- Open a folder containing X3F files in Finder to see photo thumbnails.
- Select an X3F file and press the Space bar to open Quick Look.
The host app does not need to remain open.
If previews do not appear
- Open the troubleshooting section in the app and check the macOS Quick Look extension settings.
- Reopen Finder or restart the Mac to refresh the cache.
- For speed testing, copy the X3F file to the Mac’s internal SSD.
Compatibility
Verified with representative files from dp1 Quattro, DP2 Merrill, SD1 Merrill, SD15, and an earlier-generation DP2.
Not every camera or shooting mode is guaranteed. Files without a valid embedded JPEG preview cannot be displayed.
Privacy
No photos or metadata are uploaded. All processing stays on the Mac and the original X3F is never modified.
